James Violande
James Violande is a lawyer and notary public with Fitch Violande. He practices at the firm’s Halifax office on Cunard Street.

James grew up in Glace Bay and spent most of his summer at his grandparents’ cottage on the Mira River. He attended Cape Breton University where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration.

After his graduation, James moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta, where he worked as a consultant in the financial sector and as a training coordinator in the construction sector. Before too long, James realized he did not want to spend a significant part of his life away from his family and friends, and moved back home to Nova Scotia to study law at Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law. After law school James articled with a small firm in Glace Bay before relocating back to Halifax to be closer to his partner, Katelyn. James was a contractor for Bland and Associates Law and Notary Public before co-founding Fitch Violande in October of 2015. James has a general law practice but particularly enjoys helping people with matters relating to criminal defence, family law, personal injury law, and property law.
